Guwahati will host the Olympia Fine Arts International Exhibition and Symposium (OFAIES) for the first time in the Northeast. It is organized by Olympia Fine Arts Association (0FAA) Finland in association with Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra and is supported by the Department of Cultural Affairs. It is going to be a seven-day affair starting from 16th Jan and managed by Mantraa Media.
The event will simultaneously be held at Kalakshetra and the adjoining Shilpagram complex. 55 world-renowned master Olympian artists from 33 nations from across the globe will be part of the event. Daily activities include interactive sessions with the participating artists, a series of symposia on various aspects of fine arts, interviews, seeing the artists at work and an exhibition of their acclaimed works.
Shri Narayan Konwar, secretary of Kalakshetra society says, ‘This is for the first time that so many renowned contemporary artists of the world are congregating in Guwahati. We are also looking forward to showcasing Assam and the region as a destination for both creative minds as well as investors, in the process building a positive image of the Northeast across the globe’.
