To My Future Self,
I am glad that even after living a somewhat ‘unhealthy’ life, you have still managed to hang on. Well, for that, give yourself a pat on the back. Secondly, are you still addicted to Korean dramas and movies, if so, have you worked out a system where you can watch episodes back to back and not sacrifice your sleep and have to go through your mornings like a zombie (which is the current situation btw)? If you have, yay! And if you haven’t, well, I guess finding out if the characters you love in the drama are going to end up together is more important than sleeping anyways.
I guess with the luck I have been having, my life is not as smooth as I would like it to be so I am assuming that you have gone through some rough patches (yet again). Well, no matter what happens, remember that there are people (maybe just a handful but that counts for a lot and you should remember that) who care about you and want only the best for you.
Hopefully you have got your anger and stubbornness under control or with age, it must be getting worse. No worries, whenever you think you are going to lose it, just head to the bar. On the upside, since you are old and at the pace my metabolism is slowing down, I am assuming one pint should be enough to knock you out for a few hours. And when you come to, you will most likely have the worst hangover ever and not be too concerned about whatever argument you were worked up about.
Now, I come to the most important part, did you marry the man you love? I suppose you did because I would have it no other way. Are you driving each other up the wall? Good, then you know it must be real. I hope you are still winning all the arguments. Always win! (Just kidding, but am I?)
I think I should end this letter because I could go on all day (you know it’s true), but I want you to ask yourself whether you are happy? Not rich or important or famous or pretty. But happy? If you reply with “most of the time” then you have lived well.
PS: If you do not own at least 5 dogs, you should go out immediately and adopt a few. Now!
