The Mobile10X Hackathon, a unique initiative comes to Guwahati for its second edition. IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India) is behind this specially curated initiative to search and support quality app developers in India. As a part of the program, Mobile10X conducts nation wide hackathons.
In this edition, they are targeting smaller towns. The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Facebook are partnering with IAMAI on this initiative. Guwahati is among the selected cities where this hackathon will take place on 22 – 23rd October. It will be held at the Yuva Vikas Kendra near Kalibari, Amingaon, Guwahati. This hackathon will go on non-stop for 24 hours and the participant will be asked to submit his/her prototype app for screening and evaluation for prizes and future support.
The concept of #HackforIndia is to support and showcase potentially great ideas, talent from the country, by reaching out to developers, entrepreneurs, start-ups in their own city, helping them develop their idea, product to a minimum viable stage. Then it can be evaluated by a jury and can be further selected for prizes as well as incubation support and seed funding. The winners will get the opportunity to demonstrate their apps to the mobile industry leaders and jury members at an event in Delhi in December 2016. There are prizes worth Rs 5 lakhs to be won in the competition.
