Few days after the completion of two years in the Centre, the present Narendra Modi led Union Government is now all set for major cabinet reshuffle. According to sources, 4 new faces are likely to be inducted in Modi’s cabinet and out of these 2 are from Assam.
The names of Nagaon MP Rajen Gohain and Dibrugarh MP Rameshwar Teli are doing round the corners.
Speaking to ENe, a source from BJP in condition of anonymity said, ‘Both Gohain and Teli are veteran BJP leaders. They are serving the party since many years.’
He further added that Teli represents tea garden community, so he has huge popularity among them. Gohain has also huge popularity in middle Assam.
‘Both of them are sincere and hard-working leaders so we believe if they are inducted in the Union cabinet then they will definitely do their best to serve the nation’ the source said.
Earlier Sarbananda Sonowal served the post of Union Sports & Youth Affairs Minister, but he has resigned from his position after taking over as Assam Chief Minister.
The reshuffle is likely to take place between June 19 to June 23.
