Two back to back home defeats made NEUFC are now trailing at 5th position in the points table. One win at home can boost their morale for the rest of the away games.
However, their opponents Mumbai City FC are on third position with few good away games to their name.
The home team will surely miss some key players in their match like Velez, Romaric and Subroto Pal. As both Indian goalkeepers TP Rehenesh and Subroto are injured and it is likely that Brazilian Wellington Lima will be in charge of the goal post. Thus, it will be 5 Indian players playing in the front.
So, it will be a tough match for leading striker Emiliano Alfaro and his playmakers Katsumi Yusa, Robert Cullen and local lad Holicharan Narzary.
Brazilian defender Mailson Alves could be back after a gap of some matches making the defence tightened enough for Mumbai City FC Strikers
North East United FC head coach Vingada sounds optimistic even if some of his key players are down with injuries as he says, ‘Yes we are troubled with some injuries but that is a part of football. We will put the best 11 forward to win this game.’
Mumbai City FC
Mumbai is having a good run this season with their marquee Diego Forlan striking for them and their Argentine signing Defedrico and Haitian footballer Sony Norde are giving the team the much needed strikes and assists.
However, coach Guimaraes says that they won’t take NEUFC lightly because they showed what they are capable of in the first few games as they were the table toppers during the first few weeks of the league. ‘The confidence is high in my team’, says Guimaraes.
