Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has accused JP Rajkhowa of running a ‘parallel’ government and turning it into BJP headquarters. Strongly criticising Governor J P Rajkhowa, the Chief Minister in a statement said, ‘It is an open secret that the high constitutional office of the Governor is being misused by the State BJP and affiliated organisations as BJP Headquarters – to prepare strategies and conspiracies towards dislodging the democratically elected Government of the State.’ It further informed that the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to create an unbridgeable divide within the Congress Legislature Party in general, and in the Congress Party in particular.
‘Some unhappy Congress Legislators are being lured by mentioning that if the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers are ousted, the Governor will support such MLAs who express their willingness to vote against the Government in any proposed no confidence motion,’ the statement further asserted.
The Chief Minister further accused the Governor of interfering in the running of the bureaucracy in the State by asking the Commissioners and Secretaries to report to Raj Bhavan directly. It is to be noted that the Assam government has also put up similar charges against Governor PB Acharya.
