Sikkim designer Meerak Hang Subba is behind India’s first All-Electric Motorcycle T6X. The motorcycle was first unveiled by the Pune-based Tork motorcycles in Bangalore. Subba is the lead designer of the team that developed the motorcycle. He is an alumni of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
The electric motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,24,999 and powered by Brushless DC 6Kw lithium-ion battery with a maximum torque of 27Nm. It has a maximum speed of 100 km per hour. The battery needs two hours to charge. The motorcycle is claimed to be equivalent to a regular 200 cc petrol-driven motorcycle.
For now the company is only accepting pre-booking for the T6X through its website. The bike is set to be manufactured at a plant of Tork, in Chakan, Maharashtra. The company is accepting a sale of 10,000 units in the first year itself.
