In order to ease data and services management of two of its major hospitals, the Nagaland governement has proposed to implement e-Hospital concept. The initiative covers state-owned Naga Hospital and Dimapur-based Civil Hospital. It is to be noted both of these hospitals account for 40 percent of the patients in the state.
What is e-Hospital?
e-Hospital is an open source health information management system(HMIS) which is configurable and easily customisable with multi tenancy support. In order to manage multiple hospitals seamlessly, the system is designed to deploy in cloud infrastructure.
Besides that, it will also include eBloodBank and Online Registration System(ORS). In addition to that, there is also provision of booking online appointments of various departments. The e-KYC data of patient’s Aadhar card will be used for the same. Upon booking the patients are also slated to get Unique Health Identification (UHID)Number along with their appointment details.

Confirming to HL7 Standards, eHospital is a powerful, flexible and most importantly easy to use. It is being developed to deliver real benefits in terms of IteS from outdoor clinics, IPD, Hospital etc. All of this for free. Yes you heart that right. In order to promote the inititive, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is providing the eHospital software and cloud infrastructure free of cost as of now.
As if all the world class features aren’t enough, the eHospital software seamlessly runs on Linux and Windows platforms and can be easily customised to suit the requirements and priorities of the hospital management team.
